My school is refusing to give back my phone. The HM said that I wouldn't get my phone back until sslc (final exam) ended. I am in 10th grade and my final exam ends on march 29. What can I do to get my phone back. My teacher also forced me to give him my screen lock and looked through my phone. My parents also called the HM and she is still refusing to give me back my phone.

A.It is not acceptable for a school to withhold a student's personal property, such as a phone, without a valid reason or proper process. Here are some steps you can take to try to get your phone back:

Talk to the HM and your teacher: Try to talk to the HM and your teacher to understand the reason why they are withholding your phone and ask for its return. Be polite but firm and express your concerns.

Check the school's policies: Check your school's policies to see if there is any provision for confiscation of personal property and if there is a procedure for its return.

Seek legal help: If the school continues to withhold your phone despite your efforts to resolve the issue, you may want to seek legal advice. In some cases, withholding personal property may be illegal and you may have the right to take legal action.

File a complaint: If the issue is not resolved, you can file a complaint with the appropriate government authority, such as the education department or a consumer protection agency.
