Hi,
I got married on 2021. My husband abused me and my parents with mentally and physically. And he and his parents are asking my jewelry everything. My father asked about why your son is abusing with bad words and asking jewelry but his parents were supporting him. He is also a drinker. Both family had a conversation but during that time he slapped my father and mother.
How do I proceed?
If I file divorce will they get any punishment for abusing me and my parents

A.Hello ma'am,
File a divorce case in the court. Under section 13 of The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 you can file for divorce on the grounds of cruelty and domestic violence. Ask for the maintenance from your husband and security from the court.
