Compensation for neighbours fallen wall Compensation for neighbours fallen wall

My construction for shop started 15 days ago.Since previous construction was of sand and clay I decided to leave a 14inch wall attached to our neighbours wall as it was. But that wall fell along with his wall yesterday as heavy rain and storm was there. I told them i will make your wall the same it was. But as their house is also old they are asking me to make a new wall from the foundation itself. Please tell what are my laibilities and how much is needed to be compensated by me

A.Since the damage to the property of yourself and neighbor arisen out of natural calamities that comes under the clause force mazure you are not responsible alone for the damage. So talk to the neighbor suitably and try to resolve the issue amicably failing which you may take up the matter with the concerned civic authority/Panchayat for a resolutaion before nocking the door of Court.
