A.Dear Client,
In the absence of an FIR or GD made for a lost cheque leaf with the local Police Station, the person neither can file a false case against you nor, can threaten you alike. When you issue three cheque leafs against your debt to the person, you must have the details of the cheques with you. A cheque even a post-dated cheque remains valid for 3 months from the date of issue. You may cheque out the status of the missing cheque from the concerned Bank and get its payment/encashment stopped by an application, if you found it is not represented so far by the person to whom you issued the cheque. In case on query with the Bank you found that the cheque is already encashed by the person, then collect an account statement of the concerned period and place it before the Court where the person files the case against you with a prayer for a harsh punishment for the complainant who lodges a false case against you. Reach out to an Advocate for guidance and appropriate steps in the matter.
