A.Dear Client,
Eligibility for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category for housing schemes or benefits typically depends on various factors, including your income, family size, and other criteria specified by the relevant government authority or housing scheme. The ownership of multiple houses may affect your eligibility, but it can vary depending on local regulations and policies.

Here are some general points to consider:

Income Criteria: EWS category eligibility often involves income criteria, which means your household income should fall within a specified range to qualify. Owning multiple houses may not directly impact your income but could affect your eligibility in other ways.

Residential Status: Some housing schemes or benefits may have specific rules regarding the residential status of applicants. Owning a house may affect your eligibility if the scheme is intended for individuals or families who do not already own a house.

Local Regulations: Housing policies, including eligibility criteria, can vary by region, state, or city. It's essential to check the specific rules and guidelines provided by the relevant housing authority or government agency in your area to understand how owning multiple houses may impact your eligibility.

Asset Ownership: In some cases, eligibility may take into account not only your income but also your ownership of assets, including property. If you own multiple houses, this may be a factor considered when determining eligibility.

Consult with Authorities: To determine your eligibility accurately and understand the impact of selling one of your houses on your eligibility for the EWS category, consider consulting with the housing authority or relevant government agency responsible for administering the housing scheme. They can provide guidance based on your specific situation and the local regulations in place.
Thank you.

A.Dear Client,
To be classified under EWS Category, the candidate's annual family income must be less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum. Their family must not own more than 5 acres of agricultural land and the residential flat area collectively should be below 1000 sq ft. Being the above qualifying parameter, you may assess your eligibility for EWS Certificate. However, you may enquire about the matter with the concerned competent authority, like, DM/SDM, Tehsildar for further clarification in this regard.
