The court fee for filing a case under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act (NI Act) for the recovery of Rs 280,000 can vary based on the jurisdiction and the state-specific court fee structure. In many cases, the court fee is calculated as a percentage of the claim amount. It is advisable to check the applicable court fee rules in the specific court where you intend to file the case. A.Dear sir
It being a criminal case no court fee is to be paid unless you prefer to file civil suit for recovery of cheque amount with interest thereon. If you file cheque bounce case by the time you get judgement the accused may sell away all his property. In civil case you can attach his property and also get interest.
