What can I do to be free from this mess and not be in trouble?

A.Blackmailing is offences you didn't mention your concers then only I can assume whether it is or not.
Example , A is advocate and B is claint, if B have to pay A's fee. If B make default A will demand his fee some it will feel as a blackmail.

A.Hi,
File a complaint with the Bar Council of India under S.35 of the Advocates Act. You can approach the police with a complaint against the lawyer for extortion under S.383 IPC.

A.Hi,
You can file a complaint with the Bar Council of India under S.35 of the Advocates Act, which provides punishment for professional misconduct.
S.383 of the Indian Penal Code deals with extortion, you can mention this in your complaint if the police are unwilling to take necessary action.
