hi i am from Bihar a married woman(younger daughter of my father). My father died in 2001 and before his death he constructed one house. My mother also died in 2019, now my brothers they are selling that house and they are denying to give any share. So i want to know, is i have any right in this property or not? or i have to move court.

A.Hi,
If the father dies intestate, that is, without leaving a will, all legal heirs have an equal right to the property. Each heir is entitled to one part of the property, which means that as a daughter you have a right to a share in your father’s property. If you found this helpful, please rate us.

A.Hi,
In this case where the property is self-acquired property by father, the father has a right to pass on his property to any person he wants and the daughter will only be entitled to a share if father gives her a share in his Will.
