Husband can Retain Ownership. Earlier, the husband could have no claim over property purchased in the name of the wife as the property may be considered as 'Benami' property as per The Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act, 1988. but nowit is allowed.

A.This kind of property in which husband purchases in wife's name and he himself is paying for d property falls under benami property. In such a case he has a clear possession on d property. But if d wife has contributed in purchasing d property then husband cannot claim sole ownership.
