Can SDMC unlock the unauthorised construction and demolish the unauthorised property?

A.Dear Sir,
Yes, it has all such powers subject to issuance of notices. But, many a times if you are not in good terms with such authority then they will be abruptly issue a formal notice and demolish which is illegal and you can approach Court for damages.

A.If it is unauthorized construction then why it cannot open and cannot demolish. They have all the powers on earth to investigate, enter, and bring down any not permitted and unauthorized building, structure.

A.Hi,
SDMC has power to demolish unauthorized properties according to THE DELHI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1957. Functions of municipal corporation includes Regulation of land-use and construction of buildings, Planning for economic and social development, Water supply for domestic, industrial and commercial purposes, Public health, sanitation conservancy and solid waste management.

A.Hi,
SDMC according to DMC act 1957, has right to demolish unauthorized buildings. SDMC is serving the population of almost 56 Lacs citizen with a responsibility of monitoring, upgrading and developing civic amenities efficiently with a view to create a better tomorrow for citizens of Delhi.
