Relative not leaving my own house. Relative not leaving my own house.

In 2006, one of my relative occupied my vaccant house, with my consent. There was no written deal, only verbal consent was given. No money was ever paid to me as rent by my relative. After 12 years, now in 2018, when I asked my relative to vacate the house, he is refusing to do so. Kindly advice me. Thank you on anticipation.

A.doctrine of adverse possession will come into play. You lost your right to legally evict your relative. However, you can file an eviction suit for recovery of rent as per market rate.
