A.Dear Client
The state of Jammu and Kashmir had its own set of laws before the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, which granted special status to the state. Since then, Jammu and Kashmir has been integrated into the Indian Union, and the Indian Constitution and laws apply to the state.Under the Indian Divorce laws, a woman can file for divorce in the district court where she resides, regardless of the place of residence of her husband. Please seek an expert legal advice over this matter.
