False FIR of Missing filed in response to a Notice for Separation n others False FIR of Missing filed in response to a Notice for Separation n others

My husband deserted our family (my 2 kids and me) in Pune and is living in Chennai with his married sister's family and mother. I sent a notice to my husband for separation and maintenance of children. To avoid any responsibility, my mother in law filed an FIR stating my husband is missing. He is not missing but Indian law doesn't take any active action against a missing person till 7 years. I have written to helplines, reached out to officials but no use through email ids on the internet. Can someone guide me which email id in the Police Department of Tamil Nadu addresses such issues that women face? And how does Indian Police penalize people for filing false FIR and abusing law? Can someone help me to whom to raise this situation to? And how to make him respond to the notice and work out on the maintenance for children?

You can proceed to file a complaint in your place residence. Yes, there is penalty for false accusations and complaints. However, if you are done wrong, proceed to take legal action in this regard.
