I am an exserviceman. I was allotted a plot for construction of house in 2005. I had even constructed a compound wall around it. But recently when I had gone there everything got changed. I could not identify my plot. What is my couse of action.

A.Dear Client,
It appears that you were allotted the said plot of land under the ex-servicemen quota either by the local Development Authority or Land Deptt. concerned. So, in the prevailing situation, you need to enquire about the status of the said allotted plot from the office of the concerned authority showing your allotment letter. Sometimes, it happens when a Development Authority allots a residential plot of land on a leasehold basis to an allotee with a condition of construction of a residential building within a stipulated time, failing which allotment is canceled. Apart, on the grounds of uninterrupted adverse possession of the said plot for more than 12 years, the occupier of the said plot got ownership of the plot based on a claim before the Court. At this juncture, all these probabilities cannot be ruled out.

A.Dear Client,
Collect all relevant documents related to your plot, including the allotment letter, sale deed, property tax receipts, and any other records that prove your ownership or allocation of the land. Approach the local municipal or development authority that issued the plot to you in 2005. They may be able to provide you with information about any changes made to the plot or any records that indicate the current status of your plot. It's possible that someone may have encroached upon your plot. Verify if there are any illegal structures or boundary encroachments on your land. If you suspect foul play or unauthorized changes to your plot, file a formal complaint with the local police station. Provide them with all the relevant documents and details. Before going to court, you may explore the option of mediation to resolve the dispute amicably with the parties involved.
