My Grandfather had made a settlement deed to me(Grandson).My Father and Grandfather are deceased.After the death of my grandfather,his daughter is emotional blackmailing me...to write the property to her,or else she will claim it in court...Does she or anyone have rights to claim the property which is in my name(grandson) after the settlement deed ?...If so how??Please help ,because they are threatening us...to write the property to them,or else they say they will see it other way,itseems..What should I do?(Note: The property is self-acquired property of the grandfather and not an ancestral property.)

A.dear client in your matter i agreed on legal opinion that There are various terms that you have used in your post which makes your post full of ambiguity. Settlement is a word used when you settle things which is an outcome of a pending transaction. Did your grandfather owe you something against which he gave you his property with a settlement deed. In order to effect a transfer of self acquired property, a gift deed is made or a WILL is made. Request you to please check and confirm. Kindly consult for a further legal advice in this case
