Thanks have a self acquired property which I have purchased before marriage. Now we are going for divorce. Can my wife can claim share on this property

A.Dear Sir,
She cannot claim any right on such property however she has a right to claim alimony and while determining alimony your self acquired properties after marriage will be taken into consideration.

A.She can claim right to reside there being her matrimonial house except in the case it is already rented vide a registered agreement but irrespectively she will not be entitled to ownership of the house if the house is solely acquired by you. Thank you.

A.Dear Client,

If your wife files for maintenance along with divorce than the court may grant her partly right over the property.
