Requirement of Divorce decree and copy of judgement.

Hi, Me and my ex-wife had filed for Divorce last year in September 2021. The Divorce was Disposed off and granted in March 2022. However, the lawyer was from my ex-wife side as we did not feel that we needed any separate lawyer. It is been told by the lawyer that we will be getting Copy of Judgement in the next 2 to 3 days and Divorce decree will take a month, but still now i haven't received any response from my ex in laws side. Want to know as how long should I wait to get the decree and copy of judgement. I have received Registration number and CNR number online. Thanks in advance.

You may engage another advocate to get certified copies. Due to heavy work some times the preparing judgement and decree so delay might have been occured.

If the judgement has been passed then it does not take much time to provide the written judgement by the court. It may take few days depending on the busy schedule of the judge. Once you apply for the same you can get the copy within 2-5 days. If you have the case no then try to see if the judgement copy is uploaded in the ecourts or not.

A.To give opinion, it is necessary to know relevant facts of your case. Please take note that within 15 days from the period of such judgment of divorce, the Decree will required to be drawn up because that date of such decree is actually the date of divorce.
