I and my husband - hindus.did intercaste marriage. My husband tied thali form me in photo studio .,edited it with temple background and surrendered in Tirunelveli DGP office.police didn't found they originality.. called our parents spoke to them..got a letter from both family.and from me mutual consent. No it's 5 years and we are having 3 years old girl child.Does my marriage valid? As per Hindu law.. special law and customary marriage law. As we didn't do any marriage rituals and just a yellow thread with turmeric is tied in my neck in a photo studio.Does my marriage valid? Can I apply for marriage certificate? An advocate said that as we are having a girl child and his name is included as father in her birth certificate our marriage is valid. Is it true?
The Hindu Marriage Act requires the existence of certain ceremonial customs(like Saptapadi) to recognise the marriage. If you haven't performed such ceremonies, the marriage is invalid
