Enquiry for spouse name removal

I'm going through divorce proceedings in India and I'm looking for removal my wife name from my passport and i got my police clearance certificate for a visa application to another country on 19/03/202. If i apply to remove my wife name from my passport would the police conduct another in person verification at my residence? Thank you.

A.its possible only after divorce.

A.Your got to wait till your divorce case is over to get the name removed from the passport.

A.Mere pendency of divorce proceeding does not mean that she is not your wife. Let decree if divorce be passed only thereafter on the basis of decree you can get your passport corrected.

A.Hi,
There is no need for the police to conduct a second time verification after you have divorced. To remove your spouse's name from the passport, you need to visit the passport office and present the certified copy of divorce decree after the proceedings are completed.
