We have been married for 1 year - 5months and husband wants separation from wife with no proper reason. I tried for reconciliation but in vain, husband wanted to end the marriage
I'm a working women who earns 5lacs per annum. Husband earns more than 12 lacs per annum. How much alimony can a working women ask for, if husband wants divorce.
We do not have child and Wife is more educated than the husband.

There are certain rulings to suggest the quantum of maintenance but there are no rulings on alimony and it actually depends on what both the partners decide and agree for. What ever you need and if he is ready to pay then its fine.

If the alimony is being paid on a monthly basis, the Supreme Court of India has set 25% of the husband's net monthly salary as the benchmark amount that should be granted to the wife.
